Photo Mounting Rules

The following are the requirements for mounting printed images for submission to competition according to the CACCA Competition Rules.


Mounting Prints

Prints must be mounted. It is common to to use a mount board, however foam core boards are also used. You may mount your image on top of the board or cut a window in the mount board and mount your image under the cut window. Des Plaines Camera Club offers mount boards for sale at cost. Boards are generally available at all club meetings. Foam core and mount boards can also be found in craft stores, art supply stores or online.


Small Print Category

Size of mount board: 11 inches x 14 inches

Size of image: must not exceed 11 inches by 14 inches


Large Print Category

Size of mount board: 16 inches x 20 inches

Size of image: must not exceed 16 inches by 20 inches


Labeling Prints

The title, maker's name and club affiliation must appear legibly on the back of the mount in the upper left-hand corner. Mounts with a black or dark back should have this information on a white or light colored label attached to the back. For labels go to Submission Forms & Labels are on  our website.
